The Research Collaboration Portal (RCP) is the new website to efficiently manage the communication among the different roles in a scientist research project.
Open your web browser and navigate to: http://rcp.jrc.ec.europa.eu:
You must have an ECAS account to access the system. If you haven't ECAS account, go and create it. It is easy!
2 My Projects
RCP user interface is simple and intuitive, using standard icons and elements to make the user experience as friendly as possible.
A list with the projects you are involved is displayed.
Problems to find your project? Do you need a new site for your project? Contact us!
RCP provides a centralized site (Dashboard) for your scientific project where you can share documents, events, discuss on forums, contact experts…
Also allows direct navigation from this dashboard to documents, events, discussions… Just click on them!
Tools to use can be configured depending on project needs: discussion forum, web contents, calendars, tools to track the planning of the project… Need more? Ask for it!
Use the left menu to display these options.
3.1 Document Repository
Need to share documents and access them from any place with Internet connection?. Use the RCP Document repository!
Document repository: place to store and share documentation by using an standard folder and files system.
Place to schedule and share project events and meetings.
Different views for events.
Remember: Upcoming events will be displayed on the project Dashboard!
3.3 Discussion area
Brainstorming, focus groups, collaborative ideas… Why do not use the discussion area to collaborate on the project? Let’s go!
Discussion topics are called threads. Threads could be grouped by category for segmentation.
3.4 Project Participants
Need to contact anyone on the project?
Project Participants section provides a list with all participants in the project.
3.5 Web Content
Need a knowledge repository to share common information on your project? Use web contents for it!

Place to publish the project information (goals, context, knowledge information, welcome pack, etc.).
3.6 Project Planning
Need something to track the project milestones? Use the project planning tool.
It is not a complete tool as MS Project, but something simple for tracking the project status.
